Ed could you tell me about the MLS franchise that Beckham has an option to set up. Who would set it up with him?

Dan {Ed036's Note - no one can be 100% sure. Many clubs want him. Any wheres from miami to new york. Last i heard florida probably wont get one to soon as there isnt enough of a following there. At the moment another NY team is being looked at. It is probably the best option finacially. But the league would prefer an expansion to a state that doesnt have a team already. It may be a season ore two before it actually all happens. But it will be worth it hopefully. The league is growing and the more we can get in terms of teams and quality the better. Eventually the league would like to do a relegation system like mosf of the world. It is just another step forward. Hope that helps Dan}

Thanks a lot Ed that was really insightful. There were rumors that he would be setting it up with the Manchester City owners, is that true?
As a united fan I'm hoping it wasn't true :)

Dan {Ed036's Note - hmm thats a new one, but wouldn't the least surprise me. Beckham probably couldnt do it by himself. But with a few rich owners in the MLS cant hurt surely. Havent heard about it though. Things are still in talking stages. Im sure becks will take a few months away from football. By the way, congrats to United on the big 20. Vancouver needs a big name player just like NY with Henry and LA with Beckham.
I got Fernando Torres after his current contract expires for 3-4 years.
Any ideas? {Ed036's Note - i agree they need one, but i cant see it being torres. I believe if villa get relegated you may see a few a few moves across the ocean. Id keep my eye on agbonglahor personnally}

Torres to the MLS? He's not leaving the best league in the planet for the worst! {Ed036's Note - perhaps not immediatly, if ever, but it wouldnt be impossivle. I personnally believe that many prem stars or just alright players that near retirement. Its a good place to retire and with the league growing substancially in the last few years then never say never. But unlikely}

Its not the worst though, is it.

Del Piero and Gattuso for the last years of their career. Maybe they will be more inclinded to sign here if they come together as friends. Both are near the end of their careers and current contracts with their respected clubs. Gattuso can begin his coaching career with his sweetish club after a stint in the MLS. {Ed036's Note - personally can't see del Piero making the switch (as amazing as that'd be. But i still say expect players like these to begin to make the move nie frequently}

Best league in the world lol. {Ed036's Note - certainly not. But it isn't half bad and doesn't deserve the crap it gets}

Leicester winger would be a HUGE coup for any mls team what a player! What do you think ed? {Ed036's Note - think moves for these players are smart actually... Eckersley is an example... Wish Nelson (TFC) be manager would have came to play not coach... But Lloyd Jones would be a coup... Should it happen I would hope the whitecaps land him}

Just been on the leicester city rumours page and there is a lot of buzz about Lloyd.
Seems like he will be an excellent signing for ANY of the mls teams.
Seems he is a bit of a leicester legend though so it may be hard to tempt him across the pond {Ed036's Note - the more Beckhams that "cross the pond" the better. not saying Lloyd is a beckham but the superstars will help attract these types of players (lloyd) i havent seen to much about his move lately but i still say he would be a good coup for Whitecaps. that being said with a few big names leaving the MLS potentionally (Donovan, Shea) some teams may have some more money to tempt him}

Now robbie Findley has been released by nottingham forest he will sign for real salt lake {Ed036's Note -

He will stay in England or go somewhere else. A player in his prime would not come back to MLS if he has already shown he can play overseas {Ed036's Note - not always look at Donovan or even that Canadian CB hainault some just feel homesick or don't like added competition so will go to USA}

This would be a BIG DEAL for the galaxy. What a player!
Hoping galaxy hijack the redbulls deal and get WINNIE PARKS too!

Tim cahill has been urging the redbulls to sign Victor Anichebe and Costa Rica striker Winnie Parks. These two would work well together andtheir styles compliment eachother very well {Ed036's Note - anichebe would be great however Winnie i have never seen}

This just cracked me up big time, you've never heard of Winnie Parks ed? {Ed036's Note - to be fair im of the younger Generation (and i mean young) so no i don't! haha but im sure if he is that well known he probably will be a decent signing.}
